Brad ’85 and Mary ’84 Spearman – Mike Turner Scotsman Club Award

This year’s recipients of the Mike Turner Scotsman Club Award are stalwart supporters of their alma mater and generations of Blue Hose student athletes.

Mary ’84 and Brad ’85 Spearman have been members of the Scotsman Club for more than 30 years. In that span of time, they have given much of their time, talent, and treasure to Presbyterian College.

Mary is a past member of the PC Alumni Association Board and is a Class Agent for the Class of 1984. Brad is the past president of the Alumni Association Board and a current member of the PC Board of Trustees. The Spearmans recently served together on the Championship Spirit Steering Committee as part of a campaign that raised more than $8 million for athletic facilities.

Mary is the General Manager of northeast Georgia operations for Kelly Tours, a motor coach company, and volunteers as a founding board member and chief financial officer for the Community Thrift Store of Clarkesville, Ga.

Brad, a three-year starter for the Blue Hose football squad and who graduated magna cum laude, was a member of the ROTC’s Highlander Battalion and winner of the Wysor Saber as the top cadet in his class. A retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves and a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, he is the Chief Operating officer of GlobalTech Industries Inc. in Cornelia, Ga.

The Spearman’s are members of Clarkesville First United Methodist Church. Their daughter, Dr. Taylor S. Brewer ’12, is a physical therapist. She and her husband, Mitchell, and son Jack live in Fair Play.
