Godspell PosterYou, dear reader, are invited to the biggest celebration of 1972, right here on the campus of Presbyterian College!

For those of you who do not know what Godspell is, it is a classic musical theatre show, which has received much fame and acclaim for its many performances on-stage and the 1973 film adaptation.  In it, a group of young people from various backgrounds are brought together with Jesus, so that he can teach them the ways of the world as his disciples.  If you have not yet seen this show, then I would highly recommend you to come see it on-campus.

As for the many of you who I am certain have seen this show before, you may be asking yourselves, “Why should we go see this particular performance?”  Well, here is why: this performance is personal.  It is about students, just like myself and many of you readers.  A prayer meeting and celebration is being thrown by students from the Class of 1972, and all the audience is invited. When a certain Light of the World crashes the party, he sets out to remind the guests of just what the meaning of this life is- a question that people have asked since the beginning of time.

Directed by PC’s own Dr. Christian Elser, and choreographed by the talented Kristofer Parker, this performance is sure to present the guests with a wonderful show that will have them smiling from ear to ear as they and the performers enjoy it together.  According to Dr. Elser, the reason he chose this show was because, “everybody in the ensemble gets to do something, a lot of the songs are very well-known and were heard on the radio a lot back in the day, the show has a good message, and it’s accessible to people.”

The show is being performed in Edmunds Hall on January 30, 31, and February 1 at 7:30 pm, and on February 2 at 3 pm.  Check out our article in the Clinton Chronicle, or our television appearance on WYFF.
