Thank you for your interest in the Presbyterian College Parent and Family Council. By participating in the Parents & Family Council, you will help play a critical role in the lives of all PC students. Through volunteerism, communication, engagement, and philanthropy, the PC Parents & Family Council enhances the PC experience for the entire family!

Overview

The PC Parent and Family Council is designed to provide opportunities for parents to engage with the PC community while also encouraging families to use their talents and gifts to create a positive and lasting impact. The Parent and Family Council is designed to engage families during all four years of their student’s undergraduate experience through giving, communication, and volunteer opportunities. The program offers families an opportunity to connect with other families, PC leadership, and the greater PC community.

Member Expectations

Attend bi-annual in-person meetings
Attend online meetings, as scheduled
Make an annual commitment of at least $1,000/year to the PC Fund
Volunteer for on-campus events and/or letter writing campaigns/phone calls
Engage with Advancement, Admissions, Campus Life, and Career Services

Leadership Chair Positions
Leadership Chair positions are available for each class in accordance with your student’s class year (freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior). If you (and your spouse if applicable) would like to be considered for a leadership Class Chair position (i.e. Class Chair Couple for the freshman class) please tell us more about your interest, employment, and past involvement in parent groups, advisory boards, fundraising, and community service. One to two Class Chair Couples are appointed each year by PC Advancement and Student Life staff.

Class Chair Responsibilities include:

• Serve as leaders as well as parent and family ambassadors by representing your student’s class year on the Council.
• Make a philanthropic annual gift to the PC Fund or Scotsman Club at the recommended level of $1,000 or more.
• Encourage other PC parents and family members to engage with PC through volunteerism and philanthropy.
• Serve as the Lead Volunteer on one or more of the volunteer opportunities as listed in the “Volunteer Opportunities Section.”
• Actively engage and assist with Presbyterian College activities and college-wide initiatives.
• Work with PC Development staff to aid in the efforts to develop private sources of funding.
