Face Coverings and Social Distancing

Face Coverings

Outdoors

Masks are optional outdoors for all individuals and at outdoor events where social distancing can be observed.

Indoors

Due to the ever-evolving nature of the pandemic as well as new CDC guidelines, all persons (regardless of vaccination status) will wear masks while indoors in ALL non-residential campus buildings, unless in the following situations:

  • Faculty or employees working alone in one’s office
  • Students working alone in an enclosed space (e.g., studying in a classroom alone)
  • Faculty, employees, or students eating in dining areas
  • Athletics personnel and student-athletes when engaging in team-related activities (i.e., NCAA guidelines will be followed in these situations, which will be monitored by Athletics).
In general, face shields are not acceptable as a replacement for face coverings for general campus use. (Medical documentation of the need to use a shield or an alternative face covering is required.)

NOTE: Guidelines for Residential buildings can be found here »

The College will closely monitor the evolving circumstances related to COVID-19, along with rapidly developing scientific knowledge and medical resources, to determine the appropriateness for adjustments and contingencies. For general questions, please email campuslife@presby.edu.
