Instruction and Academic Support

Instruction

The semester will begin with a mix of in-person, hybrid, and online classes. Over the semester, the environment will be monitored to make changes if necessary. Students should contact each of their professors so that they are aware of how instruction will be delivered. Face masks must be worn and distancing.

Please email academicsuccess@presby.edu if you have any questions or need assistance with tutoring or have general academic support.

Academic Support

Writing Center

The Writing Center will continue to offer tutoring remotely while the campus is closed.

Make appointments at the Writing Center. If this is your first time making an appointment, you will need to register an account.

Remote tutoring will take place through WConline, the same service through which appointments are made. A link will be provided to facilitate the online meeting. In the case of technical difficulties, we will rely on Google Meet as a back-up for video conferencing.

While audio and video components of online writing tutoring are available, they are not necessary and we can conference with you even if you are unable to participate in a video conference. In that case, plan on uploading the document you’d like to discuss or emailing it to your tutor.

Email Writing Center Coordinator Jonathan Butler if you have any questions or problems.

Tutoring Services

Tutoring is available to students with two options:

Option 1: Peer or Athletic Tutoring. Log into Starfish. Select Services. Select Peer Tutoring (or select Athletic Tutoring if you are a student-athlete.) Search the profiles of the tutors and the subjects they tutor. E-mail or text the tutor to make an appointment. Student-athletes should contact Jonathan Butler to coordinate a tutor appointment. jbbutler@presby.edu or 864-833-8372.

Option 2: Receive online tutoring by visiting www.tutor.com/presby. Sign in with your entire PC student email address and enter the password: bluehose

You can receive 24/7 tutoring support on-demand with Tutor.com. All undergraduate students may use this online tutoring service, including student-athletes. While the Writing Center at PC provides remote tutoring, Tutor.com also provides an option to submit a paper for review within 12 hours.
