Delete Blood Cancer
Delete Blood Cancer is an SVS organization that works to get students registered into the bone marrow registry. This organization hopes to spread awareness about blood cancer and the benefits of joining the registry. It also works to raise money in order to offset the costs of donors traveling to donate.
Approximately every 3 minutes, one person in the U.S. is diagnosed with a blood cancer.
70% of all patients in need of a transplant must find a donor match on the national registry.
More than 170,000 Americans are diagnosed with a blood cancer each year.
This year the drive will be held from September 25 – September 30. Delete Blood Cancer will be at Springs Student Center during lunchtime throughout the week and will be at the home football game on September 30.
PC has had multiple students who joined the registry while in college and have been called to donate during their time at PC.
