Move-In Day 2021 will be on Friday, August 20 or Saturday, August 21 for new PC students. Current students will move onto campus on Saturday, August 21 or Sunday, August 22.
Here are details about Move-In Day you’ll need to know as we strive to keep our community safe and healthy while we begin the semester together.
A Limit of Three Guests
You can have up to three guests help you move in. We continue to follow CDC and DHEC guidance on mask-wearing and social distancing.
You’re strongly encouraged to receive the COVID vaccine before you arrive on campus. Please email your documentation if you’ve already received your vaccination.
You and your guests must check in and go through the health screening in the library as soon as you arrive on campus. You may be sent through Student Conduct if you fail to go through the check-in process before entering buildings on campus.
The only exception to this arrival location will be pre-approved early arrivals who will be provided specific information on how to arrive on campus. All students and guests will need to complete the check-in process.
What You’ll Do in the Library
Several campus offices will have check-in areas set up in the library. You’ll check in to the following areas when you go to the library:
- Admissions (check-in)
- The Business Office/Student Accounts
- Campus Police (parking passes)
- Financial Aid
- Health Services (drop off paperwork if necessary)
- Residence Life (ID cards for new students and keys)
Please complete as much information as you can for these offices electronically before you arrive on campus.
Three-Hour Time Cap
You will have three hours to check in and move in before your guests must leave. You must arrive at Thomason Library within the first hour of your three-hour appointment.
Please call the Residence Life office at 864-833-8277 or Campus Police at 864-833-8911 if you need help moving in. Other important phone numbers will be posted outside the RA/RD room on all floors of the residence halls.
Rooms and Roommates
Please check BannerWeb to confirm your roommate for the fall semester. Some students’ room assignments have changed recently.
If you have been assigned a new roommate, their contact information should be in BannerWeb for you to connect with them. Spaces cannot be held in double rooms. You may have been assigned a new roommate if you had a space open in your room.
If you do not currently have an assigned roommate, please be aware that we continue to make assignments even as the start of the academic year approaches. Please be aware that there are no single rooms available and very few remaining open spaces at this time.
Your Meal Plan
If you’re living in a residence hall, you may choose either the All-Access (default) meal plan or Premium Access Meal Plans (additional cost with additional Bonus Bucks). You may select the 160-block meal plan if you live in Spradley, the Townhouses, Scottish Arms, or the New Apartments or you’re student teaching this Fall semester. An additional meal plan is available if you’re a commuter.
Please contact the Residence Life Office if you are an approved commuter and are interested in a limited meal plan. If you need to make a change, please do so immediately by emailing Residence Life with your name, ID number, and to which plan you would like to be changed. We are unable to make changes once classes begin, so please do this as soon as possible.
Student Account Information
Changes to housing or meal assignments may take 1-2 business days to be accurately reflected on your account. Please also check for any unpaid fines, fees, or charges when you review your student account details so that you may rectify those before or when you return to campus.
If you have questions or concerns about housing, please email the Residence Life office or give them a call at 864-833-8277. The office is open between 8:30 and 5:00 Monday through Friday. Once move-in begins, staff members will be available after 5:00 pm and on weekends to help address more urgent on-campus needs you may have.
