Allen D. ’36 and Sally Guerard
A posthumous gift that Allen Guerard and his wife, Sally, left PC will benefit students who arrive on campus years after Allen graduated.
Allen grew up in Greenwood, SC, and graduated from PC in 1936. He was heavily involved on campus and stood out as a member of Blue Key, the national honor fraternity. Allen honed his leadership skills as Blue Key president during his senior year and as vice president of his freshman class, president of his junior class, and president of the Block “P” Club. A member of ROTC, he rose from the rank of corporal to first lieutenant while at PC. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and played sports for the Blue Hose. Allen suited up for football his freshman year and ran track all four years.
The Guerards left a gift for PC to express their gratitude for Allen’s time at PC. The unrestricted gift makes a PC education more accessible to students long after Allen earned his own PC degree.
