David ’83 and Nancy Groves ’83 Lake

David and Nan Lake have a special place in their hearts assigned to Presbyterian College. It is the 1983 graduates’ alma mater and the place where their journey together began.  It is also a place that connects them not only with longtime friends and former professors but also with family.

David’s father, the late Dr. Kemper Lake Sr., graduated from PC in 1943. His sister, Tricia Lake Reid ’76 and brother-in-law Dr. Stan Reid ’74 are PC graduates, as are two cousins –  Jonathan Lake ’15 and Audra Lake ’12 – and two nieces, Dr. Carolyn Petrus ’12 and Jennifer Webb ’99.

PC also holds the Lake family dear for its many gifts. The Kemper D. Lake M.D. Sports Medicine Center has made a significant difference for Blue Hose student-athletes. David and Nan have given to the PC Fund, the Scotsman Club, the  Nolon and Eugenia Carter Scholarship Fund, the W. Fred Chapman Jr. Scholarship Fund, the Stephen Bates Potts Scholarship, and both the Richardson Science Hall renovations and Neville Renewed campaign. David and Nan’s support of the Dr. Kemper D. Lake Scholarship provides support for students from Whitmire, SC.

They have also given their time as members of the Board of Visitors.
