Wesley Starnes

Wesley Starnes

Wesley Starnes Jr. was a faithful lifelong Presbyterian who acted on his belief in church institutions by supporting those institutions. The Ridgeway native may not have attended Presbyterian College before serving in World War II but he certainly loved it like it was his own alma mater.

This dedicated man was a member of Georgetown  Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent, church treasurer, and deacon. He served there also as a ruling elder from 1954 until his passing in 2016.

After the war, he went to work at Woodlands Division International Paper  Company in Georgetown and retired as manager of the company’s employee relations department.

He generously gave to the PC Fund and his planned gift after his death went to both the PC Fund and the President’s Discretionary Fund. In light of those gifts, he is being inducted posthumously into the William Plumer Jacobs Society at the President’s Society level.
