Nick Baer ‘11 accepted to competitive vet school

Nick Baer was one of only five people from South Carolina accepted into Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Seventy South Carolinians applied to the school. Nick graduated from PC in 2011 with a major in biology and a minor in business.
Duane Hagstrom ’96 brings home the gold
Duane Hagstrom ’96 competed in the American Masters Weightlifting Championships in November 2010, taking top honors in all categories with the highest total weight lifted of anyone at the event. He brought home the gold medal in the 105+ kilo class men aged 35-39 and also was named the best lifter of the competition. In April of 2011, Duane competed in the USA Weightlifting Masters National Championships and once again had the highest total weight lifted at the event and brought home the gold medal along with a national championship.
