“I came to PC because I wanted a college experience that would challenge me and shape me. I didn’t want to go somewhere where I’d just be a number. PC was a place where professors knew your name, where you had a chance to lead, and where I could grow into the kind of person I wanted to be.”

“When I first got to PC, I had a general idea of how I saw my life being. I quickly realized that I had nothing figured out and that I was going to have to get used to that. PC changes you; it leaves a mark. It takes breaking down that wall of naivety to find that there is a lot more growth to do, but PC is great at making that change feel attainable.”

“Taking the service entrepreneurship class placed me in front of multiple city figures who I formed a relationship with and was able to further develop this project with. It prepared me by allowing me to see what the business climate, the surrounding culture and the previous successes in the city were.”

A Culture of Respect

At Presbyterian College, respect and justice isn’t just a value—it’s our foundation. We live by an honor code that a community where mutual dignity elevates everyone’s experience. This code transforms our campus into a place where integrity and justice become second nature, preparing graduates to lead with both excellence and character in a world hungry for ethical leadership and equitable systems.

Building Community

PC is committed to fostering an environment where mutuality between community members and respect for all individuals are both actively promoted and woven into our institutional framework. Our campus community benefits from meaningful initiatives like Black History Month programs, Women’s History Month events, MLK Day convocations, and civil conversation series that deepen understanding and appreciation of diverse perspectives.

Each January, Presbyterian College commemorates the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through a day of reflection, service, and community engagement. The campus gathers for a special MLK Day Convocation featuring speakers who challenge and inspire us to pursue justice, equity, and nonviolence. In the spirit of Dr. King’s call to serve others, students, faculty, and staff participate in a wide range of volunteer projects across Laurens County—beautifying public spaces, supporting local organizations, and building meaningful connections. Together, we honor Dr. King’s vision by turning words into action and service into lasting impact.

Black History Month at PC features engaging programming that celebrates African American contributions, achievements, and culture while fostering meaningful dialogue and deeper understanding throughout our institution and community.

Booker T. Ingram Convocation
As part of Black History month, PC hosts the annual Dr. Booker T. Ingram Convocation lecture, which honors the legacy of a distinguished faculty member while bringing thought-provoking speakers to campus who address critical social issues and inspire meaningful dialogue about diversity, equity, and inclusion within our community.

Women’s History Month celebrates the diverse accomplishments and vital contributions of women throughout history. Through engaging events and discussions, our community honors women’s roles in shaping society, politics, arts, sciences, and social movements while creating space for meaningful reflection on gender equity issues and the ongoing work toward a more inclusive future.

Hispanic Heritage Month honors the rich cultural traditions, significant contributions, and diverse perspectives of Hispanic and Latino Americans through special events that celebrate heritage while creating opportunities for connection and learning across our institution.

Civil Conversations brings together diverse perspectives through structured dialogue on challenging topics, creating a space where respectful discourse flourishes and participants develop deeper understanding across differences. These facilitated discussions model productive engagement with complex issues while strengthening our community’s commitment to thoughtful exchange.

Connect2PC is Presbyterian College’s early arrival program for first-generation students, providing specialized orientation activities. Students participate in preparatory programming, campus familiarization, and community-building activities before regular orientation begins, helping them transition confidently to college life.

The National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) is a global leadership organization that provides training in conflict resolution, prejudice reduction, and community coalition building for organizations, K-12 schools, higher education institutions, corporations, and law enforcement. At Presbyterian College, the NCBI Team—comprising faculty, staff, and students—meets monthly to develop strategies for strengthening campus relationships and addressing intergroup conflicts. As trained facilitators, they lead workshops, dialogues, and skill-building sessions focused on effective listening, communication, and collaborative problem-solving.
