Pre-professional students accepted to a number of schools

In the 2007-08 academic year five PC students have been accepted to dental school and five to pharmacy school, both records for the number of PC students accepted into the respective schools in one year. Plus, seven more PC students have been accepted to graduate, nursing, optometry, physical therapy, physician’s assistant, and veterinary programs.
Who's to thank for such an exceptional year? Professors credit the students. Students credit the professors. The fact is: PC’s reputation in professional schools is sound, playing a large part in this year’s success.
“PC students in the past have attended these schools and left a good record,” PC senior Millie Green, who has been accepted to MUSC’s dental school, said. “And that speaks well for future PC students and how they will perform. It is a repeating cycle that pays off for applicants from PC.”
The list of recent PC graduates in professional schools is impressive. The 2008 class president at USC’s college of pharmacy graduated from PC in 2004. The past two valedictorians at the MUSC’s school of medicine are also PC graduates. In ’06 and ’07, thirteen PC alumni graduated from MUSC’s school of medicine and three from MUSC’s college of pharmacy.
Four PC students have been accepted to USC’s college of pharmacy: Lindsey Buchanan, Jenna Foster, James Luccy, and Allison Serdah. Adam Culbertson has been accepted to Belmont School of Pharmacy in Nashville. Danielle Gill, Millie Green, Juliana Head, and Nathan Head have been accepted to MUSC’s School of Dental Medicine, while Will Boyd has been accepted into the School of Dental Medicine at The Medical College of Georgia.
In addition, Rebecca Wessinger and Vidya Fleetwood have been accepted to MUSC’s School of Medicine. Amy Nowell has been accepted to the University of Alabama School of Optometry, and Fowler Smith has been accepted into the nursing program at the University of Tennessee. Heather Hawkins has been accepted to the USC graduate program in Communication Science and Disorders. Anna Brooks Churm has been accepted into the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at MUSC. Samantha Freudenthal has been admitted to the veterinary program at the University of Georgia.
Tough courses. Demanding professors. Rigorous academics. You expect all of this at a good college. And you'll get this at PC. But then we take it further. We give you the foundation for lifelong learning, which means giving you the skills to learn from experience and from the people around you.
And why the Carnegie Foundation recognized PC as one of the nation's selective Liberal Arts colleges.
And why the John Templeton Foundation has selected PC as a "Character-Building College."
There's a difference in a PC education. And as soon as you walk on our campus, you'll know it.
