Wells Dunlap, a 2008 graduate of Presbyterian College, was recently named president of Countybank.

Countybank has announced the appointment of R. Thornwell “Wells” Dunlap, V, a 2008 graduate of Presbyterian College, as its new President. He was also elected to the Board of Directors for Countybank and its holding company, TCB Corporation.

Dunlap follows in the footsteps of his father, R. Thornwell Dunlap, III, who has served as President since 1995 and will continue as CEO and Board Chairman. As President, Wells Dunlap will lead the bank’s senior leadership team and oversee operations, financial performance, and business development.

Dunlap joined Countybank in 2013 after working in economic development. He has since held leadership roles in credit administration, commercial banking, and operations. In 2022, he was promoted to Senior Vice President and Senior Operations Officer, managing retail and digital banking, marketing, and customer service.

“I’m honored to step into this role,” Dunlap said. “Even as we innovate, it’s our people-first approach that sets us apart.”

Named South Carolina’s Outstanding Young Banker in 2024, Dunlap also serves on the South Carolina Bankers Association Board and is active in several community organizations.
