Addison Gray Perkins (born 23rd of May 1992), attended Austin Peay State University for a Bachelors of Music in classical guitar performance, graduating in 2017. He received a Masters of Music from the State University of New York at Fredonia in the Spring of 2019, where he attended on performance scholarship. Mr. Perkins served as the Adjunct Professor of Music at Austin Peay State University from Fall 2019-Spring 2023. Mr. Perkins now attends the University of South Carolina, pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in performance. Some of Mr. Perkins’s accomplishments include: attending the Big Guitar Weekend at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on bursary, studying with Maestro Leo Brouwer in Masterclasses, and performing as a special guest at the Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua New York. He has since turned his attention to chamber music, particularly voice and guitar, in order to bring this often-overlooked repertoire to a wider audience. He pursues work as an arranger, working with the music of Franz Schubert, Amy Beach, and Aaron Copland. Perkins has made connections with many of the Classical Guitar world’s finest performers and composers including: Thomas Viloteau, Matthew McAllister, James Piorkowski and the ARTIS GuitarDuo.
