Turtle Island Quartet will play Coltrane at campus performance

Two-time Grammy Award-winning group, the Turtle Island Quartet, will be on the PC campus for a one-time performance on Tuesday, Feb. 26.

The event will be held in Edmunds Hall at 7:30 p.m.

The string quartet’s performance will feature the music of John Coltrane, and the jazz musician’s album, “A Love Supreme.”

The Turtle Island Quartet, winner of the 2006 and 2008 Grammy Award for Best Classical Crossover Album, is often recognized for breaking ground in chamber music since the group was founded in 1985.

The quartet presents a fusion of jazz and chamber music through many musical genres, eras and places, including the American landscape, Latin America, Europe and India, to name a few.

The concert at PC is open to the public. Admission is $5. PC faculty, students and staff are admitted free.
