Golfers Support Student-athletes in Scotsman Club Invitational

Nearly 100 Scotsman Club Invitational participants laced up their cleats to show their support for Blue Hose student-athletes this year. All told, they raised $26,000 in scholarship funds for student-athletes in the annual event in May.

“What a great day for Blue Hose student-athletes,” said Scotsman Club Coordinator Katharine Anne Ashmore ’14. “It’s always good to see the local community, coaches, alumni, family and friends of PC rally around our Blue Hose to show their support.”

Strong Partnerships

Greenwood, S.C.-based Self Regional Healthcare served as the title sponsor for the 2019 Scotsman Club Invitational.

“We are delighted to know that we’re helping raise much-needed funds for student-athletic scholarships at Presbyterian College,” said Jim Pfeiffer, CEO of Self Regional Healthcare. “Self Regional sees this tournament and fundraiser as yet another way to demonstrate our commitment to a strong partnership between our organizations.”

According to Pfeiffer, PC plays an important role in ensuring that the Lakelands area of South Carolina will have a pipeline of talent to meet this region’s healthcare needs well into the future.

“Undoubtedly, many graduates of PC’s School of Pharmacy and the Physician Assistant Studies programs will choose to live and conduct their careers in the Lakelands,” Pfeiffer said. “That’s invaluable, and something that we at Self Regional Healthcare want to celebrate and support.”

Musgrove Mill Golf Course, directed by Jeff Tallman, served as the location for the event. Sponsors included:
