Barbara Beeks, Ed.D.

Dr. Barbara Beeks joined Presbyterian College in June 2024 as the director of the Jacobs Scholars Program, the college’s signature initiative supporting students affected by foster care. With more than two decades of experience in counseling and social services, Dr. Beeks brings deep expertise and heartfelt compassion to her new role.

Before coming to PC, Dr. Beeks served for eight years as student services coordinator at Greenville Technical College. Her earlier roles include family services director at the Laurens County Disabilities and Special Needs Board, clinical counselor at Growing Home Southeast, and therapist and program coordinator for Family Resources Inc. Her career reflects a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable populations, especially children and families affected by trauma and hardship.

A native of Waterloo, S.C., Dr. Beeks holds a B.A. in sociology from the University of South Carolina, a master’s degree in counseling from Webster University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Liberty University. Her professional achievements include being named Family Resources Therapist of the Year and Greenville Tech’s President’s Innovator of the Year.
