About Dr. Gumina
I hold the equivalent of a BS in Pharmacy and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Catania, Italy, where I was born and spent the first 26 years of my life. During my last year of graduate studies, I had the chance to spend 9 months at UGA doing research. After I went back home, graduated, and returned to Athens where I spent 5 more years conducting research in Medicinal Chemistry. This is my 7th year at PCSP, and in the past I have held academic positions at South University in Savannah, MUSC, and Georgia Southern. I am a member of Rho Chi and Phi Lambda Sigma. My life outside academia is devoted to my 5-year-old son Cole, and if you drive around Highways 76 or 14 on the Laurens countryside early in the weekend, you may see me run against traffic!
