Katie Chavez

Grant Manager
Advancement

Katie Chavez joined Presbyterian College in 2026. She is a nonprofit professional with more than 15 years of experience spanning early childhood education, the health sector, community-based programming, and organizational leadership. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Development and a Master of Business Administration.

As Katie advanced into program management roles, she became responsible for securing funding to support the programs she oversaw. That experience sparked a passion for grants and led her to earn a certificate in grant writing. After several years of successful funding acquisition, she transitioned into full-time grant writing in 2022.

What Katie enjoys most about her work at PC is the opportunity to collaborate with departments across campus. She values learning about the many programs and initiatives happening throughout the College and identifying funding opportunities that help those efforts grow and thrive. She especially enjoys helping tell PC’s story and amplifying the College’s impact through external funding.

Spring is Katie’s favorite time of year on campus, when PC feels especially vibrant as students, faculty, and staff prepare for the close of the semester and the excitement of commencement. Outside of work, Katie enjoys traveling and has visited 24 states as well as Puerto Rico, Mexico, Chile, and Argentina. She also spent part of her childhood in Argentina, where her parents served as Baptist missionaries, an experience that shaped her multicultural upbringing and fluency in Spanish.
