This fall, Presbyterian College students gathered for the autumn Service Day, hosted by Student Volunteer Services (SVS), to give back to the PC and Clinton communities.
Approximately 125 students participated this fall in locations throughout the area, offering their time to service projects for a variety of community partners.
Service Day provides students with the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the community through forms that interest them. SVS works with many organizations to give students a range of opportunities to get involved.

The sites of this years’ service included:
- Thornwell Gardens with United Way of Laurens County
- Clinton Canopy
- Springdale United Methodist Church
- Langston Square
- Laurens County Humane Society
- Clinton Presbyterian Community
- Whitten Center
- Palmetto Equestrian Therapeutic
Students also had the chance to serve on campus by making cards for Ronald McDonald House Charities, creating gift baskets for teaching parents at Thornwell, or assisting with projects at the campus greenhouse and EcoHub.
Students were able to contribute in different ways because of the wide range of opportunities. At elderly care, students played BINGO with residents. Other students helped clean gardens and grounds, worked on church property, or assisted with other maintenance projects.

Students spent time playing basketball and participating in arts and crafts at Whitten Center. At the Laurens County Humane Society, volunteers provided companionship and attention to animals. Students helped clean and prepare the facility at the PET Barn.
Although the projects varied, each gave students the opportunity to see how their time and effort could benefit others.
