The School of Pharmacy building is a 54,000 square-foot, multi-story facility housing classrooms, faculty offices, teaching and research laboratories, assessment areas, and a pharmacy clinic, the Center for Pharmacy Care. The facility is in Clinton, approximately 1 mile from the Presbyterian College campus.

No, applicants will be selected for an interview by the Admissions Committee based on their application materials.

Presbyterian College does not save a certain number of spots for certain types of applicants, however bonus points are given to applicants who

• completed their pre-pharmacy coursework at Presbyterian College,
• are from rural or underserved areas of SC,
• enhance the diversity of the student body, and/or
• hold a previous degree.

PharmCAS computes your overall GPA using all coursework completed. PCSP uses your overall GPA as calculated by PharmCAS. PCSP computes your pre-pharmacy GPA based only on the courses required by PCSP (65 hours pre-pharmacy). The method of calculation is the same as that described by PharmCAS with one modification. Repeat courses completed more than 7 years ago will not be included in this GPA calculation; however all courses completed within the 7 years prior to applying will be included in the pre-pharmacy GPA.

PCSP requires two evaluations (or letters of recommendation). The first should be from a college professor. In the circumstance where a professor evaluation is not attainable, an employer or supervisor can submit an evaluation in lieu of a professor evaluation. The second evaluation should be from a pharmacist or healthcare professional.

The Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy currently has agreements with the following programs that will provide students attending these institutions a guaranteed interview if they have a cumulative 3.0 GPA:

A 2.5 overall GPA and a 2.75 pre-pharmacy GPA is preferred to be considered for admission.

You should ask people that know you very well to write your letters of recommendation. Letters from friends, clergy, or family members are NOT accepted. Remember that your references may be very busy over the holidays, therefore you should request a letter of recommendation early in the cycle.

All prerequisites must be completed with a C- grade or higher before enrolling in the School of Pharmacy. The prerequisites were selected to maximize student success in the pharmacy curriculum and to foster personal development of students. If you have a question about a particular prerequisite, please email the School of Pharmacy at pharmacy@presby.edu.

Organic chemistry and life sciences courses earned 7 or more years prior to applying to the School will not be allowed to satisfy pre-pharmacy course requirements unless approved by the Admissions Committee on an individual applicant basis.

This policy is in place because life sciences change rapidly, therefore a life science course taken years ago would include information that now is understood to be incorrect plus the course would not have included advances in these areas which are important for drug therapy; we have found that students who took organic chemistry years ago have difficulty in medicinal chemistry and biochemistry because the subject material is not fresh in their memory.

When you apply via PharmCAS you will list the courses you’re taking in the fall semester as well as the courses you plan to take in the spring and summer. You should provide an academic update with PharmCAS in December when you receive your fall grades and in May when you receive your spring grades. You will need to send summer transcripts directly to Presbyterian College if you are accepted to pharmacy school.

You must complete ALL pre-pharmacy courses with a C- grade or higher before enrolling in the School of Pharmacy. All academic updates are due to Presbyterian College one week before the first day of orientation before you can begin classes in the professional program.

You may complete the pre-pharmacy coursework at any regionally accredited institutions, or internationally accredited instutitions with a WES evaluation

AP credit may be used to satisfy pre-pharmacy course requirements but the grade will not be used to compute your GPA. Course equivalencies for AP credit are granted by your undergraduate institution and must be included on your official transcript. When entering your coursework on your PharmCAS application, include the course number for which you received AP credit at your undergraduate insititution (e.g. ENGL 101 3 CR) so that we can match your AP credit with the pre-pharmacy requirement it satisfies.

The P1 fall course schedule will be available online via BannerWeb after registration occurs in July.

The criminal background check results will be sent to Presbyterian College once you release them or automatically after 10 days. This gives you a chance to contest findings if needed.

Everything is handled electronically so you don’t need to send anything to us. After providing your specimen to the lab, call into Certiphi (1-800-799-0945) to provide your specimen ID#.

Log into your Certiphi account to complete your drug screen and background check, following instructions provided by Certiphi.

You can get your drug screen at any of the sites listed in the original email you received from Certiphi’s Application Station. You can get your drug screen at any LabCorp facility, provided that the facility conducts drug screens (some do not). Additional sites are available through the Application Station website by clicking on the “myTools” tab and using the “myCollectionSites” module. Alternatively, you can contact Certiphi Screening at (800) 803-7859 for additional drug collection clinic locations.

Please mail this information by the July 15, 2026, deadline. You may also hand deliver your information if this is more convenient.

All immunizations—with the exception of the Tdap/Td—require more than one vaccine and/or test. If you have not completed the series of vaccines, you must have at least started them by the July 15 deadline. For hepatitis B and varicella, blood tests are required as proof of immunity. If you have completed the series for these two diseases, you should have these blood tests completed before the deadline. See Accepted Students Next Steps #5, Immunization Requirements for more information.

To meet the hepatitis B requirement, you must show proof of immunity not just complete the shot series. If you never had these vaccines or have not demonstrated proof of immunity via blood test, you should start the series before the deadline. See Accepted Students Next Steps #5, Immunization Requirements for more information.

We accept either Tdap or Td, and your last vaccine must be within 10 years of your expected date of graduation. See Accepted Students Next Steps #5, Immunization Requirements for more information.

We cannot accept history of disease as proof of immunity. See Accepted Students Next Steps #5, Immunization Requirements for more information.

There are 3 types of screenings: 2-step TB skin test, IGRA blood test, and chest x-ray (with accompanying assessment by a healthcare provider). See Accepted Students Next Steps #5, Immunization Requirements to determine which test is appropriate for you. The vast majority of students are able to have the 2-step TB skin test.

Yes, as long as you have (1) completed your prerequisite coursework and all requisites of admission, (2) applied for and obtained a pharmacist intern certificate from SC LLR

Yes, you can work anywhere you like. You will not be placed on rotation, however, at a site where you work.

Yes, SCLLR will only issue pharmacist intern certificates to students who have completed their prerequisite coursework with an official letter of acceptance, indicating that all conditions of acceptance have been fulfilled. Once your prerequisite coursework is complete, official transcripts received and verified, AND your criminal background check, drug screen verified, and all of your required immunizations have been verified, Presbyterian College will send you an “official” acceptance letter so indicating. You should remit that letter (NOT your original acceptance letter with contingencies) with the SC pharmacist intern certificate application and fee to SCLLR. SCLLR will only issue pharmacist intern certificates to students within 90 days of starting pharmacy school.
