Position Description

The Department of Economics and Business Administration at Presbyterian College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting, starting in Fall 2027. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching, active student engagement, and exceptional service to the department and college community. 

Teaching

• Teach undergraduate accounting courses, including but not limited to Intermediate Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Auditing, and Federal Income Taxation
• Advise and mentor students pursuing careers in accounting and related business fields to foster their intellectual and professional growth
• Support activities that strengthen relationships with the accounting profession, including internships, career preparation, and employer partnerships
• Contribute to departmental and college-wide initiatives through committee service

Minimum Requirements

• Ph.D. in Accounting, or a Master’s degree in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Significant professional accounting experience in public, corporate, governmental, or nonprofit accounting

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous college or university teaching experience
• Experience integrating accounting technologies and enterprise software into instruction
• Familiarity with current accounting information systems, auditing technologies, and data analytics applications
• Experience advising students or mentoring aspiring accounting professionals Evidence of professional engagement through continuing education, professional organizations, or scholarly activity
