Position Description

The Presbyterian College Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level starting August 2027. This position is fully on-site with in-person lecture and laboratory instruction.

Teaching expectations include Organic Chemistry with a combination of General Chemistry, and/or upper-level elective courses in the field of the candidate’s expertise. The successful candidates will also be expected to contribute to the undergraduate research program. The candidate will have the opportunity to be supported by the College’s NIH-funded South Carolina-INBRE research program, as an advisor in our PC Summer Fellows research program, and pursue other external funding.  

Minimum Requirements

At a minimum, candidates should have a Ph.D. in Organic, Bioorganic, Medicinal, or related areas of chemistry. (ABD considered).
