Student Employment Coordinator
Position Summary
The main purpose of this position is to assist the Office of Financial Aid in the awarding and maintaining of scholarship/grant programs while overseeing the student employment program at Presbyterian College. This position will work closely with future and current students and families.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage and oversee student employment program including federal and institutional funds. Reconcile work study dollars to the Business Office and the Common Origination and Disbursement System (COD)
- Maintain Student Employment Job Postings on JobX (PC’s Employment Portal)
- Approve and notify students of their student employment job approvals
- Process student employment payroll
- Provide Employment Verification for former student employees
- Collect and Process Student Employment Paperwork
- Manage [email protected], [email protected] and personal email account
- Counsel student and parents on all financial aid programs and application requirements
- Audit financial aid packages to ensure compliance
- Oversee financial literacy programs
- Attend conferences, presentations and seminars for professional development and stay current with new rules and regulations
- Other duties as assigned

- Assisting with mailings
- Helping other staff when needed
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills
- Working knowledge of Banner tools desired
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform mathematical computations accurately.
- Maintain confidentiality
- Effective oral and written communications to maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrate ability to follow through with projects and meet given deadlines
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with prospective students and families, current student body and parents, faculty and staff
- Ability to manage multiple projects with time sensitive deadlines while maintaining excellent, personalized financial aid service to parents, students, faculty and staff
- Ability to diffuse difficult or emotional situations with students and/or parents
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Use of Ellucian products (Banner) preferred.
