Undergraduate Admission Counselor

The Undergraduate Admission Counselor serves as a primary representative of Presbyterian College and is responsible for recruiting, counseling, and enrolling prospective undergraduate students. This position develops and manages an assigned recruitment territory, builds relationships with students, families, high school counselors, and community partners, and guides prospective students through the admission process from inquiry to enrollment.

Territory Management and Recruitment

  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive recruitment plan for assigned territory.
  • Establish measurable recruitment goals and strategies to increase applications, admits, deposits, and enrollments.
  • Complete and submit an annual territory recruitment plan by August 1 for review and approval.

Student Recruitment and Outreach

  • Represent Presbyterian College at high schools, community events, and on-campus recruitment programs.
  • Conduct travel within an assigned territory, including high school visits and recruitment events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and prospective students.

Admission Counseling and Enrollment Support

  • Provide information regarding academic programs, campus life, admissions requirements, and enrollment procedures.
  • Guide students through the admissions funnel from inquiry to application, admission, deposit, and enrollment.
  • Advise students and families on financial aid opportunities, FAFSA completion, scholarship opportunities, and use of the Net Price Calculator.

Application Review and Scholarship Recommendations

  • Maintain a turnaround time of 72 hours or less for application reviews and scholarship recommendations.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Utilize enrollment management systems and CRM platforms to document recruitment activities and communications.
  • Monitor territory performance and enrollment conversion metrics.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, including:
    • Weekly Territory Admission Activity Reports
    • Monthly Territory Benchmark Reports
    • Travel reports within 48 hours of recruitment trips
    • Event evaluations within 5 business days of recruitment events

Other Duties

  • Participate in campus visit programs, open houses, accepted student events, and other enrollment initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across campus to support enrollment objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in admissions, enrollment management, recruitment, sales, marketing, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with higher education recruitment practices.
  • Experience using enrollment management platforms such as Slate, EAB, Encoura, and similar systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet goals and performance metrics.

Working Conditions

  • Evening and weekend work is required during recruitment seasons and campus events.
  • Position requires flexibility to work outside a traditional work schedule to meet enrollment objectives.

Reports directly to the Executive Director of Enrollment.
