Learning Without Limits

We create spaces where you belong exactly as you are. By providing thoughtful accommodations, we recognize the unique ways you navigate the world—not as exceptions, but as essential expressions of human experience.

Presbyterian College provides personalized accommodations for undergraduate and graduate students with documented disabilities. We focus on creating accessible educational experiences through individualized support rather than a one-size-fits-all disability program.

Definition of Disability

According to the ADA, a disability is “a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.” Major life activities include but are not limited to:

  • Caring for oneself
  • Performing manual tasks
  • Seeing, hearing, eating, sleeping
  • Walking, standing, sitting
  • Reaching, lifting, bending
  • Speaking, breathing
  • Learning, reading, concentrating
  • Thinking, writing, communicating
  • Interacting with others and working

We welcome students with diverse needs to request accommodations. If you have documented learning, physical, sensory, health, or psychiatric considerations, we’re here to ensure you have equal access to all aspects of campus life, including:

  • Academic
  • Housing
  • Dietary
  • Emotional Support Animals (ESA)
  • Documentation must show how your disability affects you academically
  • After review, the Accessible Education Coordinator will contact you
  • Schedule a meeting to discuss your specific needs
  • Explore appropriate accommodations together
  • You’ll receive a decision 3 – 5 business days following your meeting with the Accessible Education Coordinator. Processing time could be delayed based on the number and nature of requests received.
  • If approved: Complete an Authorization of Accommodations Form
  • If denied: You may appeal to the VP for Justice & Community Wellbeing within 3 business days
  • Schedule a private conversation with each instructor
  • Meet during office hours to discuss your approved accommodations
  • Optional: Share any additional information that might help them support you

  • PC does not provide transportation to classes or medical offices for any student.
