New Student Orientation Making Memories From Day One

New Student Orientation (NSO) provides meaningful programs and opportunities to support the transition and engagement of new students and their families to the academic, cultural, and social environment of Presbyterian College.

Your first days as a Blue Hose are packed with everything you need to hit the ground running. From campus tours and resource fairs to community-building sessions and a whole lot of fun, orientation is designed to help you feel at home from day one. Check out the full schedule below so you know exactly what to expect — and what to look forward to.

Springs Great Room | Required for residential students

This one-stop check in will include opportunities to take care of last minute important business with many campus offices and where you will receive your Student ID and room key! All students must check in upon arriving to campus.


Springs Great Room | Required for commuting students

Check in to make sure you are all set with offices on campus and receive your student ID. Then meet with important figures to learn about what opportunities and resources are available for commuters.


Edmunds Auditorium | Parents of athletes encouraged to attend

Get to know key Athletic Staff members and learn more about the expectations of being a Blue Hose Athlete.


Belk Auditorium | Required

Kick off your PC experience by getting to know your Orientation Leader and taking part in one of our favorite traditions – the Honor Code signing!


Belk Auditorium | During Welcome & Matriculation Ceremony

Parents will have time to discuss with an administration panel about any questions they may have.

Enjoy a refreshing glass of tea after a long move-in day.


Martin Stadium


Residence Hall Lobby | Required for residential students

Residential Students are required to meet their RA and learn about community at PC during this time.


Various Locations – ask your OL | Required

End move-in day with a debrief with your Orientation Leader.


Springs Student Center

Bring a friend for an ice cream sundae bar, videogames on the big screen, karaoke, and open gym time!

Belk Auditorium | Required

Start Day 2 off right with a fun and energizing session hosted by Orientation Leaders.


Belk Auditorium | Required

Chat with our hand selected Orientation Leader Panel. Ask them real questions you have about college, and get real answers from your fellow upperclassmen students.


Belk Auditorium | Required

Hear from our Auxiliary Services team about the mailroom and textbooks. Then meet AVI to learn how to maximize your meal plan at all dining locations.


Freshens, Stack’d, Greenville Dining Hall | Required

Discover what our retail options have to offer by taste testing some popular items on the menu. Then have lunch with your orientation group at GDH.


Belk Auditorium | Required

Classes are right around the corner! Learn about student success resources and opportunities from Academic Success, the Library and Career and Professional Development.


Calloway Courts | East Plaza | Springs Porch

Challenge by choice! Free time to enjoy some of recreational activities offered on campus:

  • Scavenger Hunt (complete it to be entered in a raffle for a counter top ice maker and water filter)
  • Pickleball (paddles and balls will be available at Callaway Courts)
  • Disc Golf (the map and discs will be at the first hole on GDH lawn)

President’s House | Required

Another classic PC tradition! Spend time with President Gustafson and eat some delicious desserts. Students will attend with their OL groups at a designated time. Dress code is snappy casual.

Belk Auditorium | Required

College can be stressful, start the year off right by listening to what our Justice & Community Wellbeing has to offer to put your mental health first.

East Plaza

Take part in a PC tradition and tie dye a t-shirt during your lunch break!


Belk Auditorium | Required

In this session, learn essential financial skills , how your scholarships and loans work and support long-term professional success.


Bailey Stadium

Bring your rally towels, learn the PC fight song, and cheer on the Blue Hose! While there, take a photo with your class in your new orientation shirts at 6:15!


Kuhne Auditorium | (Hosted by Student Shepherds)

Feeling lucky? Try your hand at some late night bingo for some awesome prizes.

Virtual | Required

All new students will receive and email with a survey to complete by 5pm.


Springs Great Room

A quick, structured event where you’ll rotate through short conversations with classmates, break the ice, and build more connections.


First Presbyterian Church | Required

Participate with Student Volunteer Services (SVS) in a PC tradition by volunteering to pack meals for Rise Against Hunger. Rise Against Hunger is growing a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies.

  • 2:00 – 3:15 pm | Groups 1 – 8 (meet at Springs at 1:30 pm)
  • 3:30 – 4:30 pm | Groups 9 – 16 (meet at Springs at 3:00 pm)

Neville Lawn

Grab a blanket, bring some friends, and enjoy a movie under the stars! And yes, there will be popcorn!

Meet up with your OL group before the Round Robin Info Sessions.


Springs Student Center | Required

Learn about organizations, departments, and leadership on campus. Switch locations and learn something new every 20 minutes.

  • Springs Great Room – Greek Life
  • Grass Area in Front of Springs – Student Activities Board
  • Springs Back Patio – Student Volunteer Services
  • Springs Dining Area – Student Government Association
  • Springs Basketball Court – Campus Recreation

Kuhne | Required

Students will put their Constructive Conversation modules (required completion prior to move in) to practice with their Orientation Groups. Please go with your Group at your specified time:

  • 2:00 pm – 2:50 pm | Groups 1 – 8
  • 3:00 pm – 3:50 pm | Groups 9 – 16

Neville 121 & 122

During your “off time” from the Constructive Conversations, this is the opportunity to meet with your academic advisors before classes start.


Bailey Stadium

Celebrate moving in and the beginning of the fall semester at this annual event! Music, food, drinks and t-shirts for the first 100 guests!

Belk Auditorium

Participate in this PC tradition, to honor the Class of 2026.


West Plaza

Compete against your friends in the toxic obstacle course, become a hungry hungry hippo, enjoy being a kid again!

Learn about ways to get involved on campus and in the community… and get tons of free items!

Join the Office of Spiritual Life at a reflective service to start the year.
