Students volunteer in Kenya

Students began to prepare for the “Out of Africa” Maymester the spring semester before it began by raising money to cover the cost of building and furnishing a dining hall for a rescue center for girls in Kenya. The students, along with Dean of Religious & Spiritual Life Dr. Jeri Parris Perkins and biology professor Dr. Ron Zimmerman, helped build the dining hall when they arrived in Kenya. They also explored Christian-Muslim relations, visited major archaeological sites associated with human origins, and spent two days on a photo safari.
