How can the Writing Center help me?

The Presbyterian College Writing Center offers free peer tutoring and one-on-one help with any writing assignment in any subject area and at any stage of development.

The Writing Center’s main goal is to help PC students improve their writing skills. Our tutors are trained to offer help at any stage of the writing process, from planning and essay organization to grammar, usage, citing sources, and proofreading. Tutors do not “fix” papers to guarantee a desired grade. Instead, tutors ask strategic questions, make suggestions, and provide help that students need to develop into strong and confident writers.

How do I schedule a writing conference with a tutor?

  1. Go to WC Online to schedule a tutoring session. First-time users will be asked to create an account.
  2. Choose a date and meeting time. Reserve a half hour for short assignments or a full hour for longer papers.
  3. Go the Writing Center at your scheduled appointment time and the tutor you scheduled will be ready to work with you.

If you need to cancel your appointment, log back in and cancel at least 30 minutes ahead of time. Students who repeatedly miss scheduled appointments lose their access to the Writing Center.

Email writingcenter@presby.edu with any concerns or questions.
