How can WC help me?

The Presbyterian College Writing Center offers free peer tutoring and one-on-one help with any writing assignment in any subject area and at any stage of development.

Our purpose is to help students improve as writers and perform well on writing assignments. We offer consulting on any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming to grammar and sentence structure to essay organization. Tutors are students who have been recommended by faculty and trained to ask the right questions, make helpful suggestions, and help students learn how to revise and edit papers.

How do I schedule a writing conference with a tutor?

  1. Log in to the Writing Center’s appointment calendar. First-time users will be asked to create an account.
  2. Choose a date and meeting time. Reserve a half hour for short assignments or a full hour for longer papers.
  3. Come at your scheduled time and sign in at the Writing Center. We will be ready to work with you. If you prefer an online appointment, your tutor will arrange a Zoom meeting with you.

If you need to cancel your appointment, log back in and cancel at least 30 minutes ahead of time. Students who repeatedly miss scheduled appointments lose their access to the Writing Center.

Email writingcenter@presby.edu with any concerns or questions.
