The Elizabeth Stone Harper Gallery, located in the Harper Center for the Arts on the PC campus, is hosting From Bourg to Burg on Tour, an international exhibition featuring contemporary works by nine artists living and working in Fribourg, Switzerland.
The Gallery is inviting area residents to view the more than 40 works of art and engage in a Skype conversation with the artists on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at noon in the gallery.
The traveling exhibit includes the words of André Sugnaux, Catherine Liechti, Cornélia Patthey, Francesco Ragusa, Hafis Bertschinger, Karin Kurzmeyer, Magdolna Rubin, Marie Vieili and Olivier Zappelli.
The exhibit includes photography, painting and two-dimensional mixed-media works. The exhibition originally hung in the Spartanburg Art Museum and was the idea of Lisa Anderson, a former professor at the University of South Carolina Upstate and a member of the Swiss Club.
Harper Gallery director Ann Stoddard visited with several of the artists during their Spartanburg visit and requested that the exhibit be loaned to Presbyterian College. It will be on display through Feb. 22.
Gallery hours are Noon to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, excluding holidays.
