Hartwell Dew named to Presbyterian College Board of Trustees

Presbyterian College is pleased to announce that Hartwell Dew of Atlanta has been elected to serve on the College’s Board of Trustees.

Dew is a 1975 graduate of Presbyterian College, having earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He earned an MBA from the University of Georgia in 1977, and began a career in reinsurance. Dew is currently executive vice president of Guy Carpenter and Company, LLC, a reinsurance intermediary subsidiary of Marsh and McLennan Companies in Atlanta, Ga. He holds a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriting designation.

“It is a distinct honor and privilege to be chosen to serve on the Board of Trustees of Presbyterian College,” Dew said. “PC has been a vital part in the lives of my family. Not only did I attend, but my son and daughter-in-law did, as well as a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law.”

Dew has served as a member of Presbyterian College’s Board of Visitors and as a member of the Alumni Board of Directors, having served a term as president. In 2013, Presbyterian College honored him with the Mary F. Lehman Service Award. The award recognizes an alumnus or alumna who has demonstrated outstanding meritorious service rendered to Presbyterian College and the Alumni Association.

“A true believer in the value of a liberal arts education, I look forward to working closely with other dedicated individuals to keep PC an outstanding institution of higher education, and a great place for the college experience,” Dew said.

Dew and his wife, Susan, reside in Sandy Springs, Ga. They are members of Northside Drive Baptist Church in Atlanta, where he serves as a trustee and member of the Finance Committee. They are also members of Presbyterian College’s William Plumer Jacobs Society.
