Hubert Stanley Reid named to Presbyterian College Board of Trustees

Presbyterian College is pleased to announce that Stan Reid of Greenville has been elected to serve on the College’s Board of Trustees.

Stan is a 1974 graduate of Presbyterian College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. He later earned a medical doctorate from the Medical University of South Carolina and a master of divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary.

“I am looking forward to serving alongside my colleagues on the Board of Trustees,” said Reid. “I believe that I can call on a variety of perspectives and experiences as we plan, and look into, the future for this amazing institution.”

A native of Woodruff, S.C., Stan has lived in Greenville since leaving active service in the U.S. Army in 1991, with the rank of Lt. Col. in Medical Corps, having served on active duty for 13 years. In his last assignment, he was chief of orthopedic surgery service and director and chair of the orthopedic surgery residency program at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Ft. Gordon, Ga.

Stan has been ordained and is now teaching elder in Foothills Presbytery, serving as stated supply pastor at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Mauldin, S.C. He serves in work groups and standing committees in Foothills Presbytery, preparing smaller congregations for more effective ministry and preparing candidates for ordination as Teaching Elders.
