Accreditation Status

Presbyterian College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. Presbyterian College also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. The College is also accredited by the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (biochemistry) and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP, education). CAEP was formerly known as the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, or NCATE.

 


Occupational Therapy

 

Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE®)

At its meeting on April 22-23, 2023, the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE®) reviewed the Report of On-Site Evaluation (ROSE) regarding the Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program at Presbyterian College, Clinton, South Carolina. All Standards were found to be compliant and ACOTE voted to Grant a Status of Accreditation for a period of 7 years.

The entry-level occupational therapy doctoral degree program at Presbyterian College is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 6116 Executive Boulevard, Suite 200, North Bethesda, MD 20852-4929. Graduation from an occupational therapy education program accredited by the Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE), is necessary for eligibility to sit for the certification examination, which is required in all states.  After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). In addition, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination.

 


Pharmacy

Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy is accredited by Accreditation Council for Pharmacy EducationACPE accreditation is public recognition that a professional degree program leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree is judged to meet established qualifications and education standards through initial and subsequent periodic evaluations. Accreditation is distinguished from licensure, which applies to individuals.

Physician Assistant Studies

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Presbyterian College Physician Assistant Studies Program sponsored by Presbyterian College. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.

Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be September 2033. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.
