About Mr. Cooke

Robert Cooke joins Presbyterian College as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. He will act as the primary athletic trainer for the men’s basketball and women’s golf teams.

Prior to coming to PC in September of 2019, Cooke served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of South Carolina. During his first year at South Carolina, he worked primarily with the men’s tennis and golf programs. In Robert’s second year he served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina covering all 9 NCAA sports including men’s basketball. He earned a Master of Science degree in Advanced Athletic Training from South Carolina in May 2019. Previously, Robert was an intern athletic trainer at the University of Massachusetts Amherst working with men’s lacrosse, cheerleading, and softball.

Cooke received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Springfield College in May 2016. While serving as a student athletic trainer with Springfield College, Robert worked with men’s volleyball and women’s soccer, as well as, providing care for many out of season sports. He also served an off campus rotation with a local high school.

Robert earned his national certification as an athletic trainer in 2016 and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the South Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association.
