The Rev. Dr. Jeri Parris Perkins named to Presbyterian College Board of Trustees

Presbyterian College is pleased to announce that the Reverend Dr. Jeri Parris Perkins of Clinton has been elected to serve on the College’s Board of Trustees.

Perkins is a 1981 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Presbyterian College. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in religion from Presbyterian College, a master’s of divinity degree at Columbia Theological Seminary, and a doctor of ministry degree at McCormick Theological Seminary.  Additionally, she studies in Glasgow, Scotland and Kingston, Jamaica

Currently, Perkins serves as pastor and head of staff at First Presbyterian Church of Clinton. She is also on the United Way Board of Laurens County, the Habitat for Humanity Board for Laurens County, the CHAMPS Coordinating Team, and Administrative Commission for Trinity Presbytery Coordinating Team, and moderator of the Presbytery’s Committee on Ministry.

Perkins has also been involved in many church-wide and community leadership programs. She has served as a member of the Rotary Club of Hartsville and Clinton and the Aiken, Clinton, and Hartsville Kiwanis Clubs.   For many years she was the South Carolina representative for the Lilly Foundation’s Fund for Theological Education. She recently concluded service on the Mission/Vision Task Force and currently serves on the Alumni Council for Columbia Theological Seminary.

Perkins has previously served as a member of the Presbyterian College Board of Trustees, where she served as vice chair of the Academic Affairs Committee, chair of the Student Life Committee, and member of the Executive Committee. She has also served on the Strategic Planning Task Force for Coker College. In addition, she has served as dean of religious and spiritual life and director of the Cornelson Center for the Exploration of Christian Practice at Presbyterian College.
