About Dr. McGinnis

Dr. McGinnis is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician who started his career practicing traditional Internal Medicine in a multi-specialty group then transitioned to Hospital Medicine in 2009. He worked as a Hospitalist and then as an Intensivist at Self Regional Healthcare until 2018 when he became Medical Director of Inpatient Medicine while continuing to practice full-time. He was President-elect of the Self Regional Medical staff. He most recently served as Vice-President and Chief Quality Officer for Self Regional and continued as a Physician Quality Advisor after retirement from there. He is a passionate advocate for patients, healthcare staff and providers and believes teaching is a fundamental responsibility of all healthcare professionals.

Dr. McGinnis serves on the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Board of Trustees and is Vice-Chair of the Board of The Faith Home, a non-profit Christian recovery center for men and women suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction.
