2017 Christmas at PC

The 2017 Christmas at PC will, for the first time, include an ensemble of choir alumni of the CPC programs which began in 1999. Along with their friends and fellow singers, these outstanding graduates will take the stage and join with current PC musicians and Conductor Porter Stokes in a joyous celebration of PC and Christmas spirit. Music sung by the combined forces will represent the multiple generations of PC students that have taken part in the 19 years of this PC tradition.

Also, in 2017 because of the inclusion of the alumni singers, CPC: AND TO ALL THE EARTH will be presented only twice: December 2nd at 7 p.m. and 3rd at 3 p.m.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning October 23rd.

2016 Christmas Performance

The Department of Music at Presbyterian College presents Christmas at PC 2016: Joyful and Triumphant! a collection of seasonal music specifically selected for this year, this theme, and this audience.  Beginning on Saturday, August 20, PC’s choral ensembles began the process of preparing the repertoire for the performances, still four months away.  In September and October, the forces of the entire department united for combined rehearsals, in November, those combined rehearsals occurred on a weekly basis and morphed into daily rehearsals the week following Thanksgiving.  All of this translates into a series of magnificent and uplifting performances during the first weekend of December that allows us to transmit our interpretation of the college motto Dum Vivimus Servimus, or “while We live, We serve.”

On December 2, 3, and 4, 2016, “Come, All Ye Faithful” to hear, witness, and participate as PC, once again, tells the old, old story . . . a story that is ever new and renewed.

2015 Christmas Performance

The Christmas at Presbyterian College concert is always one of the biggest events the College puts on each year, and the 2015 performance was no different. “A Celtic Christmas,” the title of the 2015 concert, harkened back to PC’s ancestral highlands and continued the theme in its song selections and musical compositions, which featured music from mostly Celtic and Scottish cultures, as well as music characteristic of those cultures.
