Ted Pitts named to Presbyterian College Board of Trustees

Presbyterian College is pleased to announce that Ted Pitts of Lexington has been elected to serve on the College’s Board of Trustees.

Pitts is a 1994 graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., having earned a bachelor’s degree in biology.  He played football for PC, lettering in 1991 and 1993.

Pitts is currently president and ceo of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce. Pitts took over this role in January of 2015, after serving as chief of staff for South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley from 2011-2014. Before working for Governor Haley, Pitts was a commercial real estate broker and partner in the South Carolina firm Newmark Grubb Wilson Kibler. He has also served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2003-2010, representing Lexington County.

Currently a major in the South Carolina Army National Guard, Pitts served in Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan. He and his wife, Christina, have three children, live in Lexington and are members of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church.
