On Thursday, April 6, the Scottish Highlander Battalion, made up of ROTC students from Presbyterian College, Lander University, and Newberry College, performed the opening ceremonies for the Minor League Baseball team, the Charlotte Knights in Charlotte, N.C.

“Being a part of the ROTC program here at PC and being able to demonstrate our commitment to the nation by displaying the colors at the Knights baseball game was an absolute honor,” said Cadet McKay Dula, a sophomore double major in history and political science from Charlotte. I will never forget holding the flag and listening to the national anthem while wearing the uniform of the U.S. Army and knowing I represent Presbyterian College.”

The presentation was organized by Skip McMillian, senior military instructor at Presbyterian College. “I listened to what my students want, and how they want the program to be, and I use that input when making some decisions,” McMillian said.

“It was also a great time to build comradery with the other cadets as we held the flag because we all are supporting something we love and value dearly,” Dula, added.
