Faculty cello, piano recital set for Sept. 24

The Presbyterian College Department of Music presents the first faculty recital of the year on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Edmunds Hall.

Dr. Richard Thomas, cello, and Andrew Sheffield, piano, will perform early works by Beethoven and Mendelssohn.

Thomas is an assistant professor of music in his 13th year at Presbyterian College where he directs the PC Chamber Orchestra. He is a former member of the National Symphony of Colombia and the National Symphony of the Dominican Republic.

Sheffield is in his second year at PC where he is a staff accompanist and teaches music theory. He is also director of the Laurens County Academy of Music, an adjunct instructor at Newberry College and he accompanies the Laurens County Choral. The concert is free and open to the public.
