What activities and organizations were you involved in as an undergraduate?
I was very involved in student musical theater organizations; I performed in 4 musicals during college. I also was the editor and chief of the HerCampus magazine, which is a student run feminist magazine that published weekly articles.
What did you do after you graduated?
I studied art in Ireland for three months. When I came home I worked as a nurse aide at a nursing home and then as a PCT in labor and delivery.
If you’ve done any volunteer work, please list what you’ve done and where.
I volunteered at Miracle Hill Renewal Center, which is a rehabilitation facility for women struggling with addiction. I also taught health classes in the community around Greenville, SC. We taught classes to students, Furman faculty, and other Greenville community members.
How or why did you become involved in this volunteer work?
I believe that empowering and equipping women is such important work. So when I was introduced to Miracle Hill’s Renewal Center I knew I wanted to be involved.
What are some of your hobbies or interests?
I am an avid crafter. I love painting, sewing, knitting, and drawing. I even sewed my own prom dress in high school!
Please let us know about anything weird, quirky, or unusual that you’d like to share.
My goal in life is to own an alpaca farm and live off the grid.
Why do you want to be a PA?
I want to be a PA because I feel called to help people. I want to be a provider that does more than just treat symptoms but helps improve the quality of life for my future patients. I think that holistic health care has the power to change lives, and I want to be involved.
Why did you choose Presbyterian College PA Program?
I chose Presbyterian because of their emphasis on educating compassionate providers. Understanding how to express and provide compassionate care is essential to the way I want to be able to practice medicine in the future.
