Major: Genetics
What activities and organizations were you involved in as an undergraduate?
Genetics Club (Founder, President), SOS Transfer Student Orientation Leader, College of Sciences and Mathematics Student Worker, College of Sciences and Mathematics Freshmen Orientation Counselor, Alpha Epsilon Delta, Beta Beta Beta, Diamond Dolls, Baby Steps (Organizational Days Chairman)
What did you do after you graduated?
I graduated in May and came straight into PA school in October!
If you’ve done any volunteer work, please list what you’ve done and where.
I did most of my volunteer work with First Baptist Church of Opelika as a special needs buddy during Sunday School. I was paired with a little girl with Down Syndrome, and we would spend one hour each week together playing games, reading Bible stories, and many other activities! I also was the organizational day chairman for Baby Steps, an organization at Auburn that helps women who become pregnant in undergrad. This organization provides housing, food, supplies, emotional support, and much more to help these women finish their degrees. As O-day chairman, I was responsible for promoting the organization to students to help bring awareness and membership to the organization.
What are some of your hobbies or interests?
I love cooking and baking! I recently began sourdough baking this summer; it has become the best stress relief! I also love sports, mostly college football, baseball, gymnastics, and golf!
Why do you want to be a PA?
I always knew I wanted to go into healthcare from a young age. I love the aspects of the PA profession and how PAs can build strong relationships with their patients. The flexibility the profession offers with a work-life balance was also why I chose to be a PA!
Why did you choose Presbyterian College PA Program?
I chose Presbyterian College because I liked what the program had to offer. I also preferred the smaller class size. All of the professors care about each of us and our successes. It is a tight-knit community.
