The Korea Scholars Living Learning Community at the Carol International House offers a unique residential experience where American students live alongside Korean and East Asia students, fostering a dynamic cultural exchange. As part of this vibrant community, students engage in shared learning experiences that emphasize Korean culture, language, and global perspectives. By living together, students build meaningful cross-cultural friendships, enhance their intercultural communication skills, and deepen their understanding of both Korean and American cultures. Summer Study at Hannam University
Immerse yourself in the rich cultural landscape of South Korea through our Korean Summer Studies Program at Hannam University, located in Daejeon. Over the course of four weeks, you’ll have the chance to earn three to six academic credit hours while engaging in a curriculum focused on Korean history, language, and contemporary culture. The program offers a unique blend of classroom learning and real-world experiences, allowing you to experience Korea’s traditions, customs, and culture.
In addition to your academic coursework, the program includes travel opportunities to various parts of the country. You’ll experience the diverse regions that make Korea unique. Whether visiting ancient temples, exploring modern landmarks, or tasting authentic Korean cuisine, each excursion will deepen your connection to the culture. Round-trip airfare is included, making this an accessible and comprehensive opportunity to study abroad, expand your global perspective, and make unforgettable memories.

Begin your academic journey with a First-Year Experience course focused on Korea’s contemporary culture, offering an engaging introduction to the country’s modern society, trends, and global impact. This course explores topics such as Korea’s rapid technological advancements, popular culture, and social transformations, providing a foundation for understanding the nation’s current role in the world.
Complementing this first-year experience, you’ll then take a year-long Korean cyber-language course taught by native Korean instructors. Through interactive online lessons, you’ll develop essential language skills, from conversational fluency to reading and writing in Hangul, allowing you to communicate effectively and immerse yourself more deeply in Korean culture.
